Using the "Replace" tool

Viewing tip: Press the 'Play' button, and then the 'Fullscreen' button on the right.

Excel’s Find tool is very powerful and can do much more than simply locate specific patterns of letters within a text. With it you can also “Find & Replace”.

This feature, selected in the Find menu or by hitting the CTRL+H keyboard shortcut, allows you to change any pattern of words into any other pattern of words throughout the entire worksheet.

This is perfect for when you’ve misspelled a name or other word. Replace will let you correct all of the misspelled instances without having to track each one down individually, which could become very tedious depending on the length of your text.

Just like Find, you can customize your Replace based on the terms you desire - for instance, you can change a word to include a capital letter at the beginning while leaving the rest of the letters intact, or vice versa.
