Using the "Find" tool (detailed description)

Viewing tip: Press the 'Play' button, and then the 'Fullscreen' button on the right.

In addition to what is taught in this video, Find has several functions beyond a simple search tool. With the “Options” submenu you have access to a wide array of permutations and variables in your search.

For instance, you can elect to search only on the current sheet, or in the entire workbook. You can arrange the search by row or by column, and you can even search specifically in your formulas, values, and comments.

You can have Find look for the matching case as well, which is useful when searching names or other words with capital letters.

Find can even search through formatting. Click the “Format” button and you’ll see options allowing you to search by font type, size, background color, etc.

With all of these options, Excel makes it very easy to find what you’re looking for.
