Viewing tip: Press the 'Play' button, and then the 'Fullscreen' button on the right.
While working in Excel a need may arise to move pieces of data around the worksheet.
If you are dealing with small adjustments such as lining up cells together or testing different layouts - as long as it is inside the visible area - it can be easily achieved by using the mouse.
Moving cells with the mouse - step by step
- Select carefully the range of cells.
- Put the mouse cursor on the border of the selected range. It will turn its shape into a four arrows cross.
- Click and drag the mouse to a new location. You could spot a "shadow" of the selected range following you. It marks where the range can be dropped.
- Release the mouse button to leave the cells in their new desired location.
