Selecting and working on multiple worksheets together

Viewing tip: Press the 'Play' button, and then the 'Fullscreen' button on the right.

When should you work on multiple worksheets?
Sometimes you wish to make a template to appear on many worksheets. Into this template you will later insert your data.

For example a monthly report you wish to appear on twelve worksheets, a report to be filled later every month on its own. By selecting some worksheets together, you make sure that the data and formatting you apply are identical across all of them.

How do you insert data simultaneously into multiple worksheets?
First select them carefully:
  1. Select the first worksheet regularly.
  2. Click and hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard.
  3. Select the other worksheets you wish to work on.
  4. Release the Ctrl key.
Now everything you write or format is inserted into all selected worksheets altogether.

When you finish, make sure you ungroup them by clicking one of their tabs. (In case it doesn't work then right-click one of the tabs, and choose "Ungroup sheets").
